Trinity Benson entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent, with the Broncos in 2019. He is currently in his fourth season in the National Football League.
Benson played college football for the East Central Tigers. He had 507 yards and four touchdowns on 45 receptions as a senior, in addition to 324 yards and five rushing scores, earning him a berth on the Great American Conference’s first team.
Benson joined the Denver Broncos on April 29, 2019, as an undrafted free agent. On August 31, 2019, the team released him following the conclusion of the training camp. On September 24, 2019, the Broncos signed Benson to their practice squad.
The Broncos traded Benson and a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Detroit Lions on August 31, 2021, in exchange for fifth- and seventh-round picks in the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft.
Because of his success on the Detroit lions fan forum podcast, local Detroiters call him “the steak bet.”
Benson was signed by the Detroit Lions on November 9, 2022, after being released from the Broncos practice squad. On November 18, he was placed on injured reserve.
