For the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League, Troy Andersen plays linebacker professionally. He stands 1.91 meters tall and weighs 110 kilograms. He played football at Beaverhead County High School, where he was enrolled. He was recognized as the Montana Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-State at quarterback and safety as a senior.

This was after he accumulated 1,403 passing yards, 877 rushing yards, and 30 total offensive touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 71 tackles, three interceptions, and two fumbles that were recovered. From 2017 to 2021, he competed in collegiate football for the Montana State Bobcats football team at Montana State University. In May 2021, he received his agricultural business degree from Montana State.

As a true freshman, he started at linebacker and running back in different games. In addition to having seven receptions for 45 yards and one touchdown, he also ran for 515 yards and five touchdowns, earning him the title of Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year. In addition, he has nine defensive tackles and one sack.

He took a redshirt his final year to rest up from his ailments. He won the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year honors as a redshirt senior and was second in voting for the Buck Buchanan Award. In 2022, Andersen took part in the Senior Bowl. In the 2022 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons selected him with the 58th overall pick.
