He is the identical twin of Tracin Wallace. During his senior year of high school, Tylan played football at South Hills High School in Fort Worth, Texas. During his time in high school, he had 182 receptions for 3,760 yards and 48 touchdowns.

After graduating from high school, he and his identical twin brother Tracin both committed to play collegiate football for Oklahoma State University. Tylan played collegiate football for the Oklahoma State Cowboys at Oklahoma State University.
