The Washington Commanders of the National Football League use Tyler Larsen as their professional center. He is 142 kg in weight and 1.93 m tall. While a student at Jordan High School, he participated in both offensive and defensive line play. As a senior, he had 27 tackles, six sacks, six forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries, four of which resulted in touchdowns.

He was named to the first team all-state and second team all-region. With 96 tackles, 16 sacks, 12 fumble recoveries, four touchdowns, and 12 fumble recoveries to his name, he helped the Beetdiggers reach the state playoffs in four seasons. From 2009 to 2013, he was a member of the Utah State football.

He played in the first two games of his rookie season before suffering a knee injury that caused his season to end early and earned him a medical redshirt season. After being undrafted, Larsen joined the Miami Dolphins in 2014. He signed up with the Washington Redskins in February 2015 but was cut from the roster just before the regular season began. The Carolina Panthers offered him a futures contract in January 2016.
