Before the 2019 football season, he switched positions and became the center. In the 13 games he participated in this season, he started each one.



He started games again the next season, in 2020, and was also named an All-American and a finalist for the Rimington Trophy. He attracted notice once more in 2021 when he was named the Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year, the Rimington Trophy winner, and the unanimous All-American. The Baltimore Ravens selected him in the opening round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
