Tyler Smith is a professional football player for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He is an offensive tackle. He is 151 kg and 1.98 m tall. He went to North Crowley High School, where he played football in high school. During his junior year, he was named to the third team all-state and the first team all-district. After high school, he made an initial commitment to play college football at Abilene Christian.
He was a three-star recruit. He turned down offers from Houston, Navy, and New Mexico in favor of playing football for the University of Tulsa’s Tulsa Golden Hurricanes.
He played in the final four games of the season while redshirting his 2019 true freshman year. In the season that COVID-19 cut short, he started all nine of his team’s games at left tackle and was chosen to the American Athletic Conference’s first team in 2020. (AAC). Additionally, he was picked for the FWAA Freshman All-Star squad for 2020. As a redshirt sophomore who started each of the 12 games for the Golden Hurricane, he was chosen for the second team All-AAC.
He declared that after the current season, he would forfeit his remaining collegiate eligibility and enter the 2022 NFL Draft. Smith was chosen by the Dallas Cowboys with the 24th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
