Tyler Stephenson happens to be one of the professional baseball catchers with the Cincinnati Reds baseball team of Major League Baseball. Tyler was born and raised in Georgia on August 16, 1996, to parents David and Rhonda Stephenson.
Tyler played high school baseball at Kennesaw Mountain High School. After his high school education and career, the Cincinnati Reds drafted him in the first round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He agreed to play for them instead of going to college to play college baseball for Georgia Tech.
After signing with the Reds, he was assigned to the Rookie-level Billings Mustangs that year to begin his professional career. He began the 2016 season playing for the Dayton Dragons in the Low-A Midwest League.
The Reds promoted him to the Class A-Advanced Daytona Tortugas of the Florida State League for the 2018 season. During the 2019 minor league season, the Reds promoted him to the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts of the Southern League. He made his MLB debut in July 2020 for the Reds after he was promoted to the major leagues.
