The Royals asked him to do Spring Training in 2020, and he accepted. Zuber made his major league debut on July 24, 2020, against the Cleveland Indians, pitching two scoreless innings in relief of starter Carlos Carrasco.

Zuber participated in 23 games for the 2020 Kansas City Royals, collecting a 1-2 record with a 4.09 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 22.0 innings thrown. He was drafted by the Royals in the first round of the 2019 MLB Draft.
