Tyre Phillips, whose real name is Tyre Jerel Phillips, plays professional football for the National Football League. He takes part as an offensive lineman for the Baltimore Ravens. At Grenada High School in Grenada, Mississippi, he participated in football during his freshman season as well as his sophomore and junior years. Despite receiving scholarship offers from FCS schools, he chose to enroll at East Mississippi Community College in the hopes that he would subsequently sign with a Division I college.
Prior to entering in January 2017 at Mississippi State to play collegiate football for the Bulldogs, he spent two seasons with the Lions at East Mississippi Community College. He wore a redshirt his first year at Mississippi State. He then played both tackle positions in an offensive line rotation during his junior season. During his senior season, Phillips started each of the Bulldogs’ 13 games.
After the season, he took part in the 2020 Senior Bowl. He was chosen by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. On November 3, 2020, he suffered an ankle injury. He was placed on injured reserve until November 30, 2020, when he was activated. Due to a knee injury, he had to be carried off the field during the first half of the season-opening game against the Las Vegas Raiders in September 2021. In October 2021, he was called back off injured reserve. He was put on injured reserve once more in December 2021.
