Vincent James Capra, professionally called Vinny Capra is a professional baseball player from America. He plays as an infielder for the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team. He is 1.73 m tall and weighs 79 kg.
He was born on July 7, 1996, in Melbourne, Florida in the United States of America. He played baseball when he was in high school at the Melbourne Central Catholic High School. During his time, he led the Hustlers to a state championship. After he completed high school, he enrolled at Eastern Florida State College where he played college baseball for a while before transferring to the University of Richmond to play for the Richmond Spiders.
He also played collegiate summer baseball for the Walla Walla Sweets of the West Coast League. During the 2018 MLB draft, the Toronto Blue Jays selected Capra in the 20th round of the draft. He signed with them and began his professional career that season with the Short Season-A Vancouver Canadians.
He was promoted during the season to the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts. He was assigned to spend the 2019 season with the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats. He did not play a minor league game in 2020 as the season got cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
When the season resumed in 2021, he was made to play for both the Fisher Cats and Triple-A Buffalo Bisons. The Blue Jays selected his contract and promoted him to the major leagues in April 2022. He his major league debut on May 1, 2022, for the team.
