Vincent Curry is a defensive end who plays American football for the New York Jets, who compete in the National Football League.
Following his time as a football player at Marshall University, he was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the NFL Draft in 2012. Curry eventually won Super Bowl LII with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Curry wore the number 75 with the Eagles out of appreciation for the seventy-five people who perished in the accident of Southern Airways Flight 932 in 1970, which was a Marshall football charter flight.
Curry’s breakthrough season came in 2010, his junior year when he recorded a career-high 12 sacks.
Curry finished his high school career in 2011 with 74 tackles, 11 sacks, and 6 forced fumbles. The 6 forced fumbles were second most in the country, and the 11 sacks were sixth most overall.
Since Albert McClellan won the award in 2006, Curry is the only Marshall player to win C-USA Defensive Player of the Year since that time.
