Rashod Bateman, an American football wide receiver for the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens, was born on November 29, 1999. He attended Minnesota during his collegiate football career before being selected by the Ravens in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

With 51 receptions, 704 receiving yards, and six touchdowns as a true freshman at Minnesota, Bateman started at wide receiver and broke freshman records for the Golden Gophers.

Bateman became the first Gopher to be picked in the first round since Laurence Maroney in 2006 when the Baltimore Ravens took him with the 27th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Bateman signed a $12.6 million deal with the Ravens on May 12, 2021, which also included a $6.5 million signing bonus.
