What Happened To C.J. Brewer?

Last weekend, C.J. Brewer participated in the Buffalo Bills’ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. He was one of four players the team signed on Monday after deciding he had impressed them enough to warrant a contract.

C.J. Brewer participated in 56 games throughout the course of his five seasons at Coastal Carolina. He made a total of 231 tackles, 32 of which were for a loss, 16 sacks, and five of which were forced fumbles.

He had some of his greatest seasons in the past two years with 10.5 sacks and 20.5 tackles for a loss. Brewer’s success during the previous campaign earned him a spot on the first-team All-Sun Belt team.

Even though C.J. Brewer was not selected in the NFL Draft last month, he continued to draw attention. As an undrafted free agent, he first signed a contract with the New York Jets, but that didn’t work out because he was trying out for the Bills this past weekend.
