For the National Football League’s New England Patriots, Cody Davis plays safety. He was signed by the St. Louis Rams in 2013 as an undrafted free agent.

Davis started every game for Stephenville High School in Stephenville, Texas, throughout his first three years of college, contributing to the team’s overall 33-5 record.

He was a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars as well. At Texas Tech, he played collegiate football. He was chosen for the Class 4A second-team all-state team by the Associated Press, and during his senior year, he was honored as the District 8-4A Defensive MVP.

Davis participated in collegiate sports while attending Texas Tech. Davis had 101 total tackles and 84 solo tackles as a senior in 2012, earning him a spot on the second team of the Big 12 for the second consecutive season and a spot on the first team of the Capital One Academic All-Americans.

49 starts, including 22 straight at safety, were his final ones during his time at Texas Tech. Davis agreed to a deal with the New England Patriots on March 23, 2020.

On October 5, 2020, he was placed on injured reserve because of rib injuries. He entered duty on October 31.

Week 13 saw Davis block a field goal that teammate Devin McCourty later returned for a 44-yard touchdown during a 45-0 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.

On March 19, 2021, Davis extended his two-year deal with the Patriots for a maximum of $4.5 million.
