What Happened To Sam Cosmi: Is Sam Cosmi Hurt?

Sam Cosmi, who was drafted by Washington in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, is currently in his second season with the team. Cosmi had thumb surgery after Week 4 of the 2022 season.

Cosmi’s parents are immigrants from Romania. His parents, Cornel and Rodica, fled communist Romania in the early 1980s for America. He and the rest of his siblings were born in Humble, Texas.

Cosm attended Atascocita High School and played high school football. As a senior, Cosmi was honored with a spot on the first-team All-District 21-6A and the second-team All-State 6A.

Cosmi, who was rated as a three-star recruit, originally committed to play college football at Houston over offers from TCU and Memphis. However, after Houston coach Tom Herman was hired by the school, Cosmi changed his commitment to Texas.

Sam Cosmi attended the University of Texas and played for the Texas Longhorns from 2017 to 2020.

While attending Texas as a true freshman, Cosmi sat out the season as a redshirt. As a redshirt freshman, he started the final 13 games for Texas at right tackle and played in all 14 games. During his redshirt sophomore season, he started every single one of the team’s 13 games and was named to the second team.
