Seth Martinez is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB). Martinez played college baseball for the Arizona State Sun Devils. He made his MLB debut in 2021.

Martinez was picked up by the Oakland Athletics in the 17th round of the Major League Baseball draft in 2016. Following his signing with the organization, he was sent to the Arizona League Athletics, where he participated in three games as a pitcher.

Martinez began the 2017 campaign playing for the Class A Short Season Vermont Lake Monsters. After making one start for those teams, he was promoted to the Class A roster of the Beloit Snappers.

Martinez pitched 95.1 innings for Beloit, recording a 5-10 record with a 3.49 earned run average. Martinez was invited back to the team for the 2018 season.

After starting the 2019 campaign with the Stockton Ports of the California League, he was later transferred to the Midland RockHounds of the Double-A level.

Martinez was chosen by the Houston Astros at the minor league phase of the Rule 5 draft for the year 2020.

Martinez will begin the 2021 season playing for the AAA Sugar Land Skeeters after being sent there by the Astros. On September 20, 2021, he was given a call-up and made his debut in Major League Baseball.
