In American baseball, one of the professional baseball players in the major leagues is Lucas Gilbreath. Lucas plays for the Colorado Rockies baseball team as a pitcher. He has been with the Rockies since they drafted him in 2017.

Lucas was born and raised in Westminster in Colorado in the USA on March 5, 1996. He played baseball when he was in high school and also played college baseball at the University of Minnesota. When he was in college, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

During the 2017 MLB draft, the Colorado Rockies selected him in the draft. He signed with them and began his professional career that very season after he was assigned to spend the season playing for the rookie ball Grand Junction Rockies.

Lucas played for the Single-A Asheville Tourists and the High-A Lancaster JetHawks in the 2018 and 2019 minor league seasons. The Rockies added him to their 40-man roster before the 2021 season began. He made his MLB debut for the Rockies on May 1, 2021, after he was promoted to the major leagues.
