Andrés Alfonso Giménez Osorio was born in Venezuela on September 4, 1998, and now plays shortstop for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball.

He is a professional baseball player (MLB). In 2020, he made his first appearance in Major League Baseball with the New York Mets.

In July of 2015, Giménez became a member of the New York Mets organization after signing with them as an international free agent.

In 2016, he made his first appearance in a professional game with the Dominican Summer League Mets, where he also stayed the entire season.

After the conclusion of the 2017 season, Baseball America ranked him as the most promising young player for the Mets. During the 2018 season, he participated in games with both the St. Lucie Mets and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

In the National League Rookie of the Year voting, Giménez tied for eighth place with Ian Anderson and Sixto Sánchez with a single vote.

Giménez started at shortstop for the squad on Opening Day. Giménez struggled at the start of the season, and on May 18 he was relegated to Triple-A.
