In his first and second years of high school, he went to Indian River High School, and in his junior year, he switched to Oscar Smith High School.
He developed further while working for Oscar Smith, eventually becoming one of the most sought-after prospects in the nation. He was selected to the first team of USA Today’s All-American team in 2012 after recording 83 tackles and 11 sacks. He participated in NCAA football games between 2014 and 2017 for the Virginia Cavaliers of the University of Virginia.
