On September 27, 1999, Angel David Zerpa was born in Venezuela and currently plays for the Kansas City Royals of the Major League Baseball (MLB).



2021 marked the year of his MLB debut. When Zerpa was an international free agent, he signed with the Kansas City Royals and received a $100,000 signing bonus.

It was in 2017 that Zerpa made his professional debut, with the Dominican Summer League Royals, going 3–4 with one earned run over 63+2/3 innings. 3–6 with a 3.88 earned run average and 34 strikeouts in 48+2/3 innings of work for the Arizona League Royals in 2018.



While pitching for both Burlington and Idaho Falls in 2019, Zerpa went 6-3 with a 3.40 ERA with 55 strikeouts in 55+1/3 innings, going 6-3 overall. Because of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Minor League Baseball season was cancelled in 2020.

Zerpa was officially added to the Royals’ 40–man roster on November 20, 2020.  While pitching for the Quad Cities River Bandits, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals,

and the Omaha Storm Chasers in the minor leagues, Zerpa went 4–4 with a 4.58 earned run average (ERA), 108 strikeouts, and 88 13 innings throughout the course of the 2021 season.

On September 30, 2021, Zerpa was called up to the major league roster and made his Major League Baseball debut against the Cleveland Indians.
