Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher Antonio Senzatela Rondón plays for the Colorado Rockies in Major League Baseball (MLB). He debuted in the MLB in 2017. He was born on January 21, 1995, in Valencia, Venezuela.
Senzatela was signed by the Colorado Rockies as an amateur free agent, and he debuted in 2012 with the Rockies of the Dominican Summer League.
Senzatela was recognized by MiLB.com as one of the Rockies Organization All-Stars in 2014 after he led the Class A South Atlantic League’s Asheville Tourists to the league title with a 15-2 record and a 3.11 earned run average
He was ranked as the Rockies’ 11th top prospect prior to the 2015 season by MLB.com. After the 2015 season, the Rockies added Senzatela to their 40-man roster.
Senzatela pitched for the Class AA Eastern League’s Hartford Yard Goats in 2016.
Senzatela was added to the Rockies’ roster for Opening Day in 2017, and on April 6 he made his main league debut. Senzatela was named the National League’s Rookie of the Month for April after making five starts with a 3-1 win-loss record and 2.81 ERA.
He pitched in relief for the Rockies to start the 2018 campaign. He was transferred to Colorado Springs after making 10 appearances.
