Austin Charles Hedges is an American professional baseball catcher who currently plays for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball.
He was born on August 18, 1992. In 2015, he made his Major League Baseball debut with the San Diego Padres. Hedges was born on August 18, 1992, in San Juan Capistrano, California, to parents Charlie and Pam Hedges. Hedges is the first child of the couple.
Because Hedges was an only child and both of his parents worked after he got home from school, he spent a significant portion of his youth practising catching a lacrosse ball with his bare hand by tossing it against a wall and catching it.
His father coached the Little League baseball club known as the OC Aztecs, which went on to produce six players who went on to play in Major League Baseball.
