A former standout on the football team at Paso Robles High School has agreed to terms with a squad in the National Football League.

According to an announcement made on the team’s official website on July 27, the Baltimore Ravens have added wide receiver Bailey Gaither, who stands at 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds, to their 90-man roster. Gaither was a standout during his time at San Jose State.

Gaither received Player of the Year honors from The Tribune during his senior year at Paso Robles High School, where he graduated in 2015.

During his time at San Jose State University, he had a college career in which he caught 135 receptions for 2,227 yards and 18 touchdowns.

In the year 2022, Gaither was a member of the Pittsburgh Maulers of the United States Football League. He caught 24 passes for 328 yards and four touchdowns while playing for the team.

Gaither was not selected in the draft in 2021, but the Green Bay Packers offered him a spot in their preseason training camp instead. Before the completion of training camp, Gaither made the announcement that he was going to retire from football.

However, his retirement was just temporary, and he eventually opted to resume playing the sport.

By joining the Ravens, Gaither will have the opportunity to fight for a spot on the team’s regular-season roster.
