On Friday, the Baltimore Ravens made the news public that they had agreed to terms with tight end Ben Mason regarding a futures contract.

In the 2021 NFL Draft, the Ravens selected Mason, then 22 years old, from the University of Michigan in the fifth round. He agreed to a deal with Baltimore that was for $3.7 million over the course of four years, but the team released him after the preseason.



From there, he joined the practice squad of the Patriots, but he was cut in November. He promptly signed with the taxi squad of the Bears, but he was released last week.

During the course of his four years as a college student, Mason rushed the ball 37 times for 87 yards and nine touchdowns.

In addition, he had three receptions for 32 yards and one more touchdown in his 22 career games.
