What Is Brad Keller Salary: How Much Does Brad Keller Make?

Keller was out for the first half of last season due to COVID-19, but he came back to go 5-3 with a 2.47 ERA.

In his first year in arbitration, the 25-year-old right-hander earned $227,037 as a prorated share of his $613,000 salary.

Keller is slated to join left-hander Danny Duffy in giving an otherwise inexperienced but strong starting rotation some experience.

Keller and the Royals have an opportunity to reach a bilateral agreement, similar to the one the team granted Duffy immediately before the 2017 season, which effectively bought out his imminent arbitration and postponed his free agency while securing the pitcher’s financial future.

Keller had a 7-14 season a year ago, barely a season after being named the KC Royals’ Pitcher of the Year as a rookie; this season, despite a bout with COVID-19 that forced him to miss at least three starts, Keller returned with a 5-3, 2.47 (186 ERA+) record.

His ERA, 1.024 WHIP, 3.43 FIP, 2.06 SO/W, and 1.7 WAR were all team highs.

Keller restored himself, although over a brief period of time, and the Royals should sign him to a long-term contract as quickly as possible.

That time, however, has passed. In the end, baseball is a business, and difficult economic circumstances require enterprises to rethink and reshuffle priorities.

Sherman and Moore have the Royals on the verge of a championship, and they should try to keep the team’s core intact, including arbitration-eligible players, as well as add a starting pitcher and a powerful hitter.

Money is scarce, therefore management must cut costs where possible and prioritize spending on the most pressing needs.
