Braxton Berrios is a wide receiver for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He attended Miami University and participated in the college football program there.
He was a standout quarterback for the Leesville Road High School football team in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he excelled as an athlete.
The New York Jets acquired Berrios off waivers on September 1 of 2019. On September 20, 2020, Berrios scored his first touchdown in the Jets’ 31-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers during his second season with the team on a 30-yard pass from Sam Darnold.
In a trick play during a 23-16 victory over the Cleveland Browns in Week 16 of the 2020 campaign, Berrios grabbed a 43-yard touchdown throw from teammate wide receiver Jamison Crowder.
He scored a receiving touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7 of the 2021 campaign. Berrios was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 16 after scoring on a kickoff return against the Jacksonville Jaguars to help his team win 26-21.
He became the first Jets receiver to accomplish it in the same game in Week 17 when he caught a touchdown and ran for another.
Berrios placed second on the team with 46 receptions for 431 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to another 40 yards and two scores on the ground.
As a kick returner, he received first-team All-Pro recognition. Berrios ended the season third in the NFL in yards per punt return (13.4) and third in yards per kickoff return with (852)
Berrios re-signed with the Jets on a two-year, $12 million contract on March 14, 2022.
