Cam Sims plays wide receiver professionally for the National Football League’s Washington Commanders. He is 100 kg and 1.96 m tall. He attended Ouachita Parish High School, where he played high school football. He made the University of Alabama his collegiate football team of choice after committing to the institution as a four-star recruit straight out of high school.
He was a football player for the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2014 to 2017. His first two seasons at Alabama were sparsely used, but his junior and senior years saw him contribute more. Sims joined the Washington Redskins in May 2018 as an undrafted free agent after going undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft.
He was swiftly resigned by the Redskins to their practice squad after being released from the team in August 2019. He was added to the list of active players in October 2019. He played in his first postseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they visited town in the Wild Card stage of the playoffs. He eventually emerged as the team’s leading receiver, hauling in seven passes for 104 yards.
He had 32 receptions for 477 yards and one receiving score towards the end of the 2020 regular season. As a restricted free agent, the Redskins extended him a tender in March 2021. On December 15, 2021, Sims were switched off; they were then turned back on four days later. Sims was then included on the COVID-19 reserve list. In March 2022, he re-signed a one-year contract with the team.
