Daniel “Colt” McCoy, a quarterback with the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League, plays professionally. He is also a tall man, standing 1.85 m and weighing 96 kg. He went to Jim Ned High School where he played football. After graduating from high school, he went to the University of Texas and played football for the Texas Longhorns.
He took a redshirt in 2005 as a true freshman. He led the Texas Longhorns to a 12-0 regular-season record in his final season (2009) and a 13-12 victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers to win the Big 12 Championship. He was the most successful quarterback in NCAA history with 45 victories in his career.
The Cleveland Browns selected McCoy with the 85th overall pick in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He was dealt by the Browns to the San Francisco 49ers in April 2013. In April 2014, he committed to the Washington Redskins. He inked a contract with the New York Giants in March 2020. In Week 12’s matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals, he made his Giants debut.
On March 30, 2021, he agreed to a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals. McCoy and the Cardinals agreed to a two-year contract extension in March 2022. He had a calf injury and was put on injured reserve on September 7, 2022.
