Corey Seager is an American professional baseball shortstop for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Corey went to Northwest Cabarrus High School and was a baseball player there.



He accepted a college baseball scholarship to play for the University of South Carolina. He was a member of the university’s baseball team until 2012 when he declared for the MLB Draft.

He was promoted to the Class AA Chattanooga Lookouts after playing for the USA squad in the All-Star Futures Game and subsequently was named the California League MVP.

He was named baseball’s seventh top prospect and was invited to major level spring training before playing for the Tulsa Drillers, then being promoted to the AAA Oklahoma City Dodgers, and ultimately being called up to the majors.
