He claimed that growing up, he only ever played streetball. Due to his low recruiting, Williams started at Highland Community College. As a sophomore, he established himself by recording a nation-high 17 pass breakups and seven interceptions.He made a move to Houston, where he played three seasons and truly stood out as a senior, compiling 63 tackles, including three for loss, ten passes deflected, and three interceptions.
