For the New England Patriots of the National Football League, Tanielu “Daniel” Ekuale plays defensive tackle in American football. He is 1.91 m tall and 136 kg in weight. The Nuuuli Vocational Technical High School was where he studied. Most recruiting organizations in American Samoa rated him as the top college prospect in his class, and he chose to accept an offer to play college football at Washington State University over offers from other universities.

He spent five seasons as a Washington State Cougars football player at Washington State University, redshirting his true freshman year. Despite wearing a redshirt his junior year, he started at nose tackle for the Cougars and finished with a career-high 23 tackles and a sack.

With 71 total tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles, he finished his collegiate career. May 2018 saw his undrafted free agency signing with the Cleveland Browns. In September 2018, he was re-signed to the Browns’ practice squad after being released at the conclusion of training camp. In September 2020, he was released by the Browns. The following month, he was added to the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad.
