The New England Patriots have signed a number of rookie free agents since the 2022 NFL Draft concluded on Saturday, and Devin Hafford is one of them.

On Monday night, the Tarleton State cornerback announced to the world that he had signed a deal with the Patriots, making the move to the NFL on his own terms.

In recent days, the Patriots have reportedly signed eight undrafted free agents, with Hafford being the latest.

Hafford is a 6-foot-0, 195-pound senior who has played in 56 games for the Texans over his career. He has good size and some strong explosiveness.

At his pro day, he recorded a time of 1.52 seconds for a 10-yard dash, a vertical jump of 38 inches, a broad jump of 10 feet, and 24 reps on the bench press.

He made great use of his athletic abilities during his senior year at Tarleton State (2021). Hafford finished his collegiate career with 50 tackles, eight turnovers (six interceptions, two fumble recoveries), and a score.

His draft stock was low coming out of the FCS, but he was eventually voted WAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Now the Patriots are going to give him a go, with the expectation of finding another undrafted rookie cornerback gem. After all, New England has a stellar track record of identifying and signing talented players at positions outside of the draft.

How Much Does Devin Hafford Make?

Devin Hafford makes an average of $705,000 per year. Hafford will have a base salary of $705,000 and a cap hit of $705,000 in 2022.
