In July, he was once more activated. With Springfield, Montero played in 59 games and hit .188 with seven home runs and 18 RBIs.

After the season, he was chosen to represent the Glendale Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League. After the 2019 season, Montero was added to St. Louis’ 40-man roster.

Since the 2020 minor league season was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Montero did not participate in a single game.
