As a member of the Arizona Cardinals, Jace Whittaker’s sheer determination has once again paid off.
Ahead of the Cardinals’ Sunday away game against the Raiders in Las Vegas, the team added the former Arizona Wildcats cornerback to their active roster.
Since he signed with the Cardinals organization as an undrafted free agent in the year 2020, Whittaker has spent time on both the active roster and the practice squad of the Cardinals.
In his rookie season with Arizona in 2020, Whittaker appeared in four games and recorded a total of four tackles. During the previous year’s campaign, he was limited to just two games for the Cardinals and finished with three tackles.
The decision to promote Whittaker to the active roster was made because Trayvon Mullen is currently suffering a toe injury, which caused him to miss Arizona’s season-opening against Kansas City.
On Sunday, the Cardinals secondary will require as much assistance as they can get in order to slow down the Raiders receivers, Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow.
