Jalen Mayfield was born on May 23, 2000, and currently plays offensive lineman for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League. He played collegiate football for Michigan before being chosen by the Falcons in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Mayfield, who was reared in Grand Rapids, Michigan, started four seasons as an offensive tackle and defensive end for the football team at Catholic Central High School.
In February of his junior year, Mayfield made a commitment to play college football for Minnesota, but three months later he switched to Michigan. The Atlanta Falcons selected Mayfield in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft (68th overall).
On June 15, 2021, he committed to a four-year rookie deal with Atlanta. When Mayfield entered his first NFL training camp, Kaleb McGary and he was vying for the right tackle position with the Falcons.
But after Josh Andrews and Matt Gono, the offensive guards suffered injuries, Mayfield began practicing with the first team at left guard.
Mayfield was placed on injured reserve on September 1st, 2022.
