Former Clemson safety Jayron Kearse is in his seventh season in the NFL and currently plays for the Dallas Cowboys.

He was initially drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round (244th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft and played for the team for four seasons. After four seasons with the Vikings, he went on to play for the Detroit Lions (2020), and Baltimore Ravens (2020).

On March 30, 2021, Kearse became a member of the Dallas Cowboys after signing a free-agent contract with the team.

He started 15 games for the Cowboys in 2021 and recorded a career-high 101 tackles, one sack, 10 passes defended, and two interceptions after being named the starting strong safety for the team.

Kearse extended his contract with the Cowboys by signing a new one on March 21, 2022. The new deal is worth $10 million over two years.

Jevon Kearse, a former Florida Gators All-American and longtime defensive end for the Tennessee Titans is Kearse’s uncle, and his cousin, Phillip Buchanon, played college football at Miami and was selected in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders.
