Jeurys Familia Mojica (born October 10, 1989) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB).



He has previously played for the New York Mets and the Oakland A’s. Familia was signed as a non-drafted free agency by the Mets in 2007. In 2012, he made his MLB debut. Familia was named the Mets’ closer during the 2015 season.

In 2016, he was chosen as an MLB All-Star. In July 2018, the Mets traded him to the Oakland Athletics, who signed him to a three-year contract after the 2018 season.



Familia was traded to the Athletics on July 21, 2018, in exchange for Will Toffey and Bobby Wahl. Familia relieved closer Blake Treinen for the A’s. Familia went 4-2 with 40 strikeouts in 31+13 innings in 30 games with the A’s.

Familia was re-signed by the Mets to a three-year contract on December 14, 2018. Familia pitched in 66 games for New York in 2019, with a 5.70 ERA and a 4-2 record with 63 strikeouts in 60 innings thrown.

Familia improved on his last season for the Mets in 2020, throwing to a 3.71 ERA with 23 strikeouts in 26+23 innings of work. Familia achieved a career-high nine wins in 2021 while pitching to a 3.94 ERA with 72 strikeouts in 59+13 innings.

On March 15, 2022, Jeurys Familia agreed to terms with the Philadelphia Phillies on a one-year, $6,000,000 contract, with $6,000,000 guaranteed and an annual average salary of $6,000,000.
