Joseph Philip Ryan is an American professional baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Minnesota Twins in Major League Baseball.

He was born on June 5, 1996. (MLB). During the 2018 Major League Baseball draft, the Tampa Bay Rays selected him in the seventh round of available players.

Ryan received his secondary education at the former Sir Francis Drake High School in San Anselmo, California, which is now known as Archie Williams High School. In the 2014 Major League Baseball draft, the San Francisco Giants selected him in the 39th round.



However, he did not sign with them and instead played college baseball at California State University, Northridge. During the summers of 2015 and 2016, he participated in collegiate summer baseball with the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

In 2016, he was recognized as an all-star by the league.  In 2018, he made the transition to Stanislaus State University within the California State University system.

Ryan was added to the roster of the United States national baseball team in May 2021 so that the United States may compete in the baseball competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

On July 2, following the completion of the team’s qualification process, he was included on the Olympic roster. The team ultimately finished in second place, losing to Japan in the competition for the gold medal.
