He attended the University of Oklahoma after finishing high school and played collegiate football there for the Oklahoma Sooners team from 2011 to 2014. The Miami Dolphins selected him with the 52nd overall pick in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He was released by the Dolphins in October 2018.
