Strong safety Jordan Poyer, also known as Jordan Lynn-Baxter Poyer, plays for the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills. He was a member of the Astoria High School football team. He contributed to the state titles of the baseball and football teams as a senior and a freshman, respectively.

He attended Oregon State University after high school, where he played football for the Beavers from 2009 to 2012. He participated in 13 games as a true freshman in 2009 and made 11 tackles. He played cornerback the next season, compiling 34 tackles and 1,109 all-purpose yards.

Poyer was chosen by the Philadelphia Eagles in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
