After the season, he pitched in the Cape Cod League for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks and was selected as an All-Star after posting a 2.25 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 48 innings.

Over 99+2/3 innings, he was 10–2 with a 1.90 ERA and 128 strikeouts. The Rockies selected him in the first round of the draft after his junior year in high school.
