In the National Football League, Lorenzo Carter is a linebacker with the Atlanta Falcons. He stands 1.96 m tall and weighs 114 kg. He went to Norcross High School and was well-known for playing football there. After his senior year in 2013, he was named to the USA Today All-USA high school football team.

At the University of Georgia, he participated in college football for the Georgia Bulldogs. He made five starts in 13 games as a true freshman and was given the University of Georgia newcomer of the year award. With the 66th overall choice in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the New York Giants chose Carter.

In week six of the 2019 season against the New England Patriots, he forced a fumble that teammate Markus Golden was able to recover. He had 4.5 sacks at the season’s end, good for second on the team. He was the Giants’ primary pass rusher when the 2020 season got underway. He ruptured his Achilles in Week 5, and on October 19 he was placed on injured reserve to finish the season.
