According to a report by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Cleveland Browns and the New England Patriots have reached an agreement on a trade in which the Browns would send the linebacker Mack Wilson to the Patriots in exchange for the edge rusher Chase Winovich.
By making this trade, the Browns will be able to save approximately $1.5 million on their salary cap while also acquiring a player who may be able to assist them in improving their pass rush.
This season, Wilson’s salary was expected to come in at $2.61 million. The Patriots will now take responsibility for paying him his base salary of 2.54 million dollars.
Given that Wilson is only 24 years old, a team like the Patriots might be interested in the potential he possesses.
