Peart was able to attend The Governor’s Academy in Byfield, Massachusetts, thanks to a scholarship he obtained there.

Peart joined the school’s football team and contributed to the Governors’ run of four consecutive titles in the Independent School League, despite the fact that he had never played the sport before.

He played on both the offensive and defensive lines for the Governors. Peart, who was given a rating of two stars by the recruiting service, made a commitment to play collegiate football for the University of Connecticut.
