What Is Mike Ford Salary: How Much Does Mike Ford Make?

Mike Ford

The Atlanta Falcons have announced the signing of cornerback Mike Ford to a one-year contract.

Ford spent the 2021 season with the Denver Broncos, where he played in 13 games and made 6 tackles. In the previous season, Ford was most useful on special teams, as he participated in 77% of snaps compared to just 2% on defense.

Before joining the Broncos, Ford was an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Lions from the 2018 NFL Draft until the 2020 campaign. In his first season as a starter, he contributed significantly to the defense by playing in more than 300 defensive snaps and starting four games.

Given that the Falcons already had 10 cornerbacks under contract prior to Ford’s signing, the cornerback room is already quite congested, especially at the bottom of the depth chart.

By acquiring Casey Hayward and re-signing Isaiah Oliver to start opposite A.J. Terrell, as well as a plethora of other players for depth and training camp, Atlanta is emphasizing the importance of the position.

Ford is a potential early favorite for the practice squad and should push for a place on the team’s depth chart at cornerback.

Though he faces stiff competition, he is among the team’s most seasoned special teams players. He will have to compete with Avery Williams and Kendall Sheffield for the final cornerback place on the Falcons’ active roster.
