Nolan Allen Jones, an American professional baseball infielder with the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball, was born on May 7, 1998. For the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, Jones was regarded as a top prospect.

In the second round of the draft, the Cleveland Indians selected Jones. Jones agreed to a $2.25 million signing bonus when he joined the Indians on July 1.

Jones’ first at-bat for the Indians of the Arizona League ended in a swinging strikeout. He had a.257 batting average over 109 at-bats at the end of his first professional season.

In 2017, Jones played batting for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

Over 62 games, he batted 317 with four home runs, 33 RBIs, and 18 doubles.

He played 120 games for both teams in 2018, starting the year with the Lake County Captains before being promoted to the Lynchburg Hillcats, slashing a combined.283/.405/.466 with 19 home runs and 66 RBIs.

Jones started the year in Lynchburg before being promoted to the Akron RubberDucks midway through the year. He received a spot in the All-Star Futures Game of 2019.

He hit.272/.409/.442 with 15 home runs and 63 RBIs in 126 games for both clubs. He had the most walks in the lower leagues (96).  Following the season, he was chosen to represent the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League.

But after exacerbating a prior hand injury, he quit the league before it started. Due to the season’s cancellation in 2020, he did not participate in a single minor league game.

On November 20, 2020, Cleveland chose Jones’ contract. Jones cut his teeth with the Columbus Clippers, where he played in 2021. .238/.356/.431 over 99 games with 13 home runs, 48 RBIs, and 25 doubles.
