Randal Grichuk is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has also played in MLB for the St. Louis Cardinals and Toronto Blue Jays.
As a fifth outfielder in 2015, Grichuk hit.944 in 44 spring training at-bats and was promoted to the major leagues.
He suffered a lower back strain while lifting weights on April 16 and was placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Cardinals. The Cardinals reinstated him to the active roster on May 16th.
St Louis Cardinals beat the New York Mets 10–2 the following night after Cardinals outfielder Albert Pujols struck out five times on May 18.
Matt Holliday went on the DL in early June, and it opened the door for Grichuk to get consistent playing time at all three outfield positions in the majors for the first time.
He had three hits in each of the two games he played against the Philadelphia Phillies on June 19 and 20, including a home run in the first game and two more in the second.
To add insult to injury, he came up just short of a cycle on June 30th when the Chicago White Sox defeated him 2–1.
