As the second UCLA alum to receive his first-ever MLB call-up from the Rockies this week, he joins right-handed pitcher Jake Bird, who coincidentally made his Big League debut on Wednesday afternoon.

In his five professional seasons with the Rockies, Bouchard has posted a.279/.352/.490 slash line. He was selected by Colorado in the ninth round of the 2017 MLB Draft.

He improved his performance in Triple-A in just 37 games, hitting.338/.430/.683 for career highs in all three slash categories, adding 11 home runs and 34 RBIs.

When he was promoted, Bouchard had successfully touched base in 25 consecutive games. During that span, which started on April 24, Bouchard batted.398/.496/.828 with 10 home runs, 26 RBIs, and seven stolen bases.

During his 137-game UCLA career, Bouchard batted.289 with 13 home runs and 88 RBIs. In 2016 and 2017, Bouchard served as the primary first baseman for the Bruins and was named to the All-Pac-12 team.
