The Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League are led by quarterback Shane Buechele. At 1.83 m tall and 95 kg, he is both tall and heavy. He was a student at Mirabeau B. Lamar High School and participated in football there. He accumulated 6,379 yards via the air with 73 touchdown passes throughout his time in high school, and 1,805 yards through the ground with 21 more scores.
He was one of the top quarterback recruits in his class and received an invitation to the Elite 11 quarterback competition. He impressed the coaches with his accuracy and ultimately took second place. He represented the University of Texas at Austin’s Texas Longhorns football team from 2016 to 2018. He only played in two games that season.
After receiving his degree from Texas, he transferred to Southern Methodist University and played college football for the Mustangs there. He participated for the Mustangs for the first time this season against Arkansas State. In the 37-30 triumph, he completed 30 of his 49 passes for 360 yards and one interception.
Buechele joined the Kansas City Chiefs in May of 2021 as an undrafted free agent after being passed over in the NFL Draft that year. On August 31, 2021, he was set free. He was added to their practice squad the next day and then promoted off of it on November 16, 2021.
