He was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 35th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft following the season, but he declined to sign. He participated in the Alaska Baseball League that summer as a summer collegiate baseball player for the Anchorage Bucs.

He participated in 56 games as a senior in 2016, hitting.332/.399/.509 with two home runs and 36 RBIs, earning Second Team All-WCC accolades.

Jones hit his first professional home run off Zach Davies of the San Diego Padres on August 22, 2020. Jones had 21 at-bats in the 2020 season, hitting.190 with one home run and three RBIs.
